Fries, Wedges and Timaru.

Back in Earthquake City :/

After being picked up in town and dropped off here by Tim, i walk in the door and my mother is already yelling at me.. Here we go, i think. Start preparing some excuses. Turns out she's "very angry" that i was not in the photo that went in the newspaper which i should've been in. Whatever.

Okay, the difference between fries and wedges:
These are thick cut fries. In NZ we call them "chips." They come from the "fish and chip" store. (:

These are thin cut fries, or shoestring fries.

At Velvet Burger you can pick between "skinnies" and "fatties."

These are wedges. They don't look as appealing as they usually do in this picture.

So all of TFJ, bar three went out last night for Nicole's birthday. i of course, couldn't go, because, well, i'm not eighteen. What happened will not be spoken of right now, but meh. They started coming back at around 3am, and my sister finally sometime after 3.20. She insisted on turning the light on which made it very difficult to sleep, which i actually kind of wanted to do for once, considering the fact that we had to get up early this morning. i probably slept at around 4.30 and then woke up at 6.00. So it wasn't too bad. i got on the bus at 7.50 this morning. We had out half our stop in Timaru as opposed to Oamaru where we normally stop. The bus company i travelled with was different to my normal one, see. Their rules also state that the bus must be kept locked for the duration of the break, with no one on it. Which kind of sucks, especially when it's so cold.

All i have to say about Timaru is, it's not a very interesting town. Especially at 10.30 on a Sunday morning. i walked down the main street and it was pretty much deserted, with hardly any shops open at all. The most interesting thing i found was a statue near the bus stop. It was of the guy who founded the city or whatever. There was a plaque detailing it. The guy died because his son-in-law poisoned him, which i found very amusing. i stood there for a while in front of this statue just laughing at him. It was weird.

  1. only 2.5 hrs. sleep? omg that's horrible. i need to get at least 5-6 to feel halfway alive. it sounds really tedious to have to move so much. thanks for making the distinction. just looking at those potatoes makes me hungry...
now that i think about it, sometimes the menu says "wedges", but only if it's a really literal one. we have fish n chips here too and it's soooooo good.

thanks for the comment on my post (the one that i erased :/ ur comments are still up though. im doing a little bit better, but we'll see how things go
