Earthquake Update.

We went into the city centre today to take a look at some of the damage in my grandparent's jewellery shop. The main centre is cornered off and guarded by police, the public aren't allowed in. But we had ID and all that jazz so they let us in with officials. After that i went out with Tim and Margot for a walk in the Gardens and around the parts of the city centre we were allowed in. There are really some rather scary sights. i'll post more photos when i can get them off Tim's camera, but for now i've only got these photos stolen from news websites.

Damage in the city centre.

The Repertory Theatre
Mayor and Prime Minister John Key in the City Centre yesterday.

That's cool. We can deal with anything here, obviously. At the same time.

Car, meet brick.

i'm sure employees of bottle stores and supermarkets had fun on Saturday.

Of course it's safe to drive on!

Flat today.. not tomorrow.
The severe weather warnings issued yesterday to the East Coast of the South Island, AKA -here- are now starting to take affect. Heavy wind and rain starting to appear. It's going to be another fun night. Oh yay, another aftershock. GTFO, arghhh.
